The High Desert Region Green Jobs Initiative is a strategic demand-driven Initiative that links economic and workforce development to advance the green economy in northern Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Southern Kern counties. The Initiative will be achieved through public/private partnerships and guided by a collaboration of the private sector, government, and community-based organizations addressing career development, job training, labor, educational institutions, youth, and under and unemployed adults.
The High Desert Region Green Jobs Initiative will bring green industries to the high desert region with the purpose of growing our economy and using green jobs to create positive pathways for youth and unemployed adults.
The initiative will be achieved through public/ private partnerships and guided by a collaboration of the private sector, government, community-based organizations,, labor, educational institutions, youth and unemployed adults

We have, in the High Desert region, the makings of a perfect storm, a storm that can transform us and lead to positive social and economic change. Here are the elements of the storm that are gathering now:
